The Belarusian National Team Forward Will Play For A Czech Club
German Barkovsky

Herman Barkovsky will play for "Hradec Králové."

Belarus national team forward German Barkovsky has moved from the Polish league to the Czech league. He will now play for Hradec Králové, which has a good chance of qualifying for the main draw of the Eurocup, according to "Tribuna".

Just yesterday, Barkovsky officially became a Hradec player. The move came as somewhat of a surprise; there had been no rumors or insider reports.

“I’m very happy to have joined ‘Gradets’ and to be part of this club. I’m looking forward to getting started in this new environment, meeting my teammates, and getting to know the fans. I’ll do everything I can to help the team achieve the best possible results on the field,” Barkovsky said after signing the contract.

The Czech club’s sporting director Petr Poezhny also commented on the signing.

“German is exactly the kind of player we’ve been looking for on our team. He is a tall, confident, and well-prepared forward who has experience playing for the Belarusian national team. We see great potential in him and are convinced that he can help us. I believe that “Hradec” will be a good fit for him; he’ll adapt quickly, and together we’ll help him improve his game a bit.

Last year, Barkovsky played for “Piast” on loan from “Pushcha.” In total, he recorded 4 goals and 1 assist in 31 matches. However, the last time he scored for the club was as far back as February 27.

German is also a national team player. He has appeared in 15 matches for the national team and has scored two goals. The most recent of those came in a 2–1 win over Armenia on March 29.

Today, “Hradec” will play its first match in the final round of Conference League qualifying. Their opponent is the Greek club “Panathinaikos.” Barkovsky has been included in the roster for the tournament.
