Since 2011, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has been receiving special news reports that are not broadcast on television and are intended solely for his eyes. This was revealed in an interview with “And Then Graham Struck” by the former editor-in-chief of the “Vesti” program on “Russia-1” Dmitry Skorobutov, reports The Moscow Times.
According to him, when he worked at the channel, the project had the code name “The Main Viewer.” “It went like this. He clarified that they switched to this format after the mass protests in Moscow, held under the slogan “For Fair Elections” and which became some of the largest in Russia’s recent history. “They [Putin’s inner circle] were all shaken by Bolotnaya, and they tried to start isolating him specifically from real events, from the information environment, not to mention any contact with the outside world at all. That’s how it is,” Skorobutov explained. According to him, Putin now receives even less truthful information, especially regarding the war in Ukraine. Reports from the front began to be censored for the president after April 2022, when the Ukrainian Armed Forces sank the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet—the cruiser “Moscow.” “What I see now is simply a nightmare. He knows very little about what’s really happening and very little about what’s going on in the war,” Skorubotov concluded.
