Aliyev Issued A Stern Warning Against Interference In Azerbaijan's Affairs, Alluding To Russia
Ilham Aliyev

Baku is taking and will continue to take the most serious measures.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, during the 8th Congress of the ruling “New Azerbaijan” Party held in Baku on October 2, made a series of high-profile statements, some of which can be interpreted as a warning to Russia.

This was reported by Dialog.UA following media monitoring. Aliyev warned the Azerbaijani public that as Azerbaijan grows stronger, “pressure on the country will increase.”

He stated that Baku is responding with numerous strikes so that “everyone knows their place and does not interfere in our affairs.” “Let everyone take care of their own people and state,” Aliyev emphasized.

The President of Azerbaijan added that Baku is taking and will continue to take the most serious measures against all possible threats to the country. According to him, security measures are always on the agenda.

Ilham Aliyev did not explicitly mention Russia in his speech, but some political analysts believe the warning is directed at Moscow, which continues to interfere in the affairs of the South Caucasus.

Relations between Baku and Moscow have deteriorated sharply in recent years due to the crash of an Azerbaijani passenger plane and because of Russian propagandists, some of whom have called for a violent change to Azerbaijan’s constitutional order.
