And that will happen very soon.

In the Liman sector, units of the Russian Federation’s 144th Motorized Rifle Division and 2nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 1st Tank Army may be surrounded.

This was reported on his account at Facebook Konstantin Mashovets, a Ukrainian military analyst.

According to Mashovets, in the Liman sector, the distance between the forward positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces—advancing on the northern and southern flanks of the Russian occupiers’ bridgehead near the Cherny Zherebets River—currently stands at less than 6.5 km.

If the command of the Russian occupying 20th Combined Arms Army does not order units of the 144th and 2nd Mechanized Divisions to retreat across the river, “difficult days” await them—and very soon.

Ukrainian defense forces have launched an offensive operation in the Liman area called “Vivaldi” several months ago. The public was not told anything about this. It was only in August that it became known that the Third Army Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is advancing in the Liman direction.

According to the commander of the Third Army Corps, Brigadier General Andriy Biletsky, by mid-August, during Operation “Vivaldi,” Ukrainian troops—amid a media blackout—cleared 75 square kilometers of Russian occupiers, and had deoccupied another 10 square kilometers.

In late September, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that during the offensive near Lyman, the Ukrainian Armed Forces had regained control of 176 square kilometers of territory. The main preliminary outcome of the operation is that the Russian occupiers’ plans to break through to the rear of the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk metropolitan area have been thwarted.
