A captured occupier surprised everyone with his reaction to the Ukrainian Armed Forces' strikes.
A captured Russian occupier unexpectedly stated that he considers Ukrainian retaliatory strikes on the Russian capital. His reaction was made public by soldiers of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after Ataman Ivan Sirko.
The Russian soldier, a native of the Far East, was captured by fighters of the 3rd Assault Battalion. He was subsequently shown footage from Moscow—specifically, videos of the aftermath of the attacks and fires in the Russian capital.
In the released video, the prisoner did not express any outrage or surprise, which is usually expected in such cases. On the contrary, he effectively acknowledged that the strikes on Moscow were a response to the actions of the Russian army.
“Well, it’s burning, yes, it’s burning. Well, what can I do? Well, Moscow is burning. I’m here, so that’s how it’s supposed to be,” he said.
When asked to clarify whether he considered such strikes justified, the soldier replied in the affirmative:
“Well, compared to what we’re doing, yes, I think it’s justified. It’s a response to what we’re doing. It’s the same thing.”
After that, he briefly added: “Well, let it burn.”
The 92nd Brigade noted that the occupier had, in effect, acknowledged the logic behind the strikes in response to Russian aggression against Ukraine.
“And this is perhaps the only case where one can agree with the occupier,” the military emphasized.
