Among those who were released on April 28 from a Belarusian prison as part of the five-for-five exchange is Carmelite monk Grzegorz Havel.

Grzegorz Havel is a Polish citizen, a native of Krakow, and a monk of the Carmelite order. He defended his master's thesis in July 2025. Havel was detained in Lepel on September 4, 2025. On the same day it was reported by the Belarusian propaganda media. During the detention, they found a rosary and postcards-icons on him.

Havel was accused of "espionage" - allegedly he received secret plans of the Belarusian-Russian exercises "West-2025.
