New details have emerged about the aftermath of the attack.
In April 2026, Ukrainian drones attacked the Tuapse oil refinery several times to disrupt Russian oil exports. On the night of April 28, long-range UAVs attacked strategic facilities in Russia's Krasnodar region. An oil refinery in Tuapse came under newly under attack, writes Dialog.UA after monitoring social networks.
Air alert in the Krasnodar region was announced on April 28 shortly after midnight. During the night, several explosions were heard in Tuapse. Locals claim that drones attacked an oil refinery.
The governor of Krasnodar Krai Veniamin Kondratiev has not yet reacted in any way to the events in the region at the time of writing this news, but the local operational headquarters confirmed that the target of the drones this time was also an oil refinery in Tuapse.
It is reported that "falling drone fragments caused a fire at the refinery." The fire at the Tuapse oil refinery is now being extinguished by 122 people. 39 units of equipment, including special equipment, have been involved. Russian oil is sent for export by sea through the Tuapse refinery.
The Kremlin spends the money received from the sale of energy resources to continue the war against Ukraine, so oil refineries are legitimate targets for the AFU.
In April this year, the AFU attacked the Tuapse refinery several times, almost completely disabling it. The April 28 strike was necessary to "finish off" this strategic enterprise.
