The Lukashenko supporters wanted to "assess" the situation surrounding Ukraine.

Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhenkov stated that the French presidency did not allow a representative of the Lukashenko regime to speak at the UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine. The meeting took place on September 23.

According to Ryzhenkov, the regime had requested the floor to assess the situation surrounding Ukraine and propose further actions. “But despite the wide range of countries that were given the floor, the French presidency barred us from participating,” he told RIA Novosti.

Among the countries permitted to speak at the meeting, Maxim Ryzhenkov singled out Spain. He added: “Where are these countries located, and where are we? How have they been affected by this conflict, and how have we?” Russia welcomed the Lukashenko regime’s participation, the minister emphasized.
