The World Bank Provided Ukraine With $841 Million

The funds will be used for pension payments.

Ukraine has secured $841 million from the World Bank under guarantees from the Canadian government. The funds will be used to reimburse the state budget for pension payments. This was announced on September 22 by Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi.

According to him, Kyiv secured the funding as part of the PEACE in Ukraine project under agreements reached in September. The total volume of the project has already reached $54.3 billion.

“This is the largest investment project in the history of the World Bank and one of the key mechanisms for supporting Ukraine’s financial stability,” Koretsky wrote.

He thanked the Canadian government and the World Bank for their important and “timely assistance” to Ukraine amid a significant budget deficit.
