Russian "Shaheds" Have Once Again Been Flying Into Belarus In Large Numbers

At least seven airspace violations were recorded in just one day.

Throughout the day on September 21, numerous localized violations of Belarusian airspace by Russian strike drones were recorded during attacks on Ukraine, according to a Gomel-based news portal “Flagstok”, citing Ukrainian monitoring channels.

According to the Telegram channel “eRadar,” on the morning of September 21, around 9:00 a.m., four UAVs flew through the Gomel region, cutting across the Bragin district toward the exclusion zone.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., two more drones were detected on Belarusian territory within the exclusion zone. They likely continued their flight deeper into the country and were already in the area of Yelsk and Khoyniki by 9:55 a.m.

Around 12:10 p.m., one of them flew into Ukraine from the direction of Ovruch, while the second was no longer detected, the administrator of the “eRadar” channel clarified in a comment to “Flagstok.” At approximately the same time, military aircraft were spotted flying over this section of the Gomel region.

In the evening, around 7:55 p.m., another Russian UAV was moving through Belarusian territory along the border with the Zhytomyr region, after which it flew into Ukraine.

“Thus, over the course of September 21, at least seven incursions by Russian strike drones into the Gomel region were recorded. Prior to that, on September 12–13, at least 10 UAVs violated Belarusian airspace. It can be concluded that after a lull (only isolated incidents were recorded in recent months), the number of incursions by Russian drones has increased again,” the publication summarizes.

Journalists note that it is not jet-powered drones but classic “Shahed” and “Geran” models that are violating Belarusian airspace.
