In the far north of Norway, near the coast of the Barents Sea, what is believed to be debris from a Russian rocket has been discovered.
This was reported by NRK, according to "European Truth".
The suspicious debris was discovered in the water by Norwegian fisherman Kenneth Stensen and wildlife photographer Morten Gosvand near the town of Kyberg. According to Gosvand, the object was nearly 1.5 meters long.
The discovery was immediately reported to the Norwegian Army’s hotline, and coast guard representatives arrived shortly thereafter. By that time, the suspected missile had already been carried away by the current and waves in an unknown direction, but the pair managed to take a series of photographs.
Brinjar Stordal, spokesperson for the Norwegian Armed Forces’ operational headquarters in Bodø , noted that, given Russia’s military activity in the region, such a discovery is not unexpected, as naval firing exercises are conducted nearby from time to time, and debris can be washed up on Norwegian shores.
He also noted that such discoveries can pose a danger and that the divers did exactly the right thing by reporting it to the relevant authorities.
