Zelenskyy Announced The New Chief Of The General Staff Of The Armed Forces Of Ukraine

He is a seasoned military officer who fought side by side with the new commander-in-chief to defend Ukraine.
Major General Igor Skibuk will become the new Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“We have determined the course of further action,” the head of state said.
According to him, decisions regarding the replacement of the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be officially approved today—the relevant decrees are being prepared.
“Together with Mykhailo Drapaty and Yevhen Khmara (acting Minister of Defense), we have determined that Major General Ihor Skibuk will become the new Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine—a highly experienced military officer with whom the new Commander-in-Chief has defended Ukraine side by side. “It is important that all components of our army continue to function in perfect harmony,” the President of Ukraine noted.
Ihor Skibyuk: Military Career
He rose through the ranks from commander of an airborne platoon to deputy brigade commander – head of the airborne service of a separate airborne assault brigade of the Highly Mobile Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including service as commander of a special platoon in a special company of the Ukrainian peacekeeping contingent in Kosovo, Republic of Serbia (2001–2002).
He served as chief of staff—first deputy commander of a separate airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; commander of a separate airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; chief of staff and deputy commander of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; and commander of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
