The U.S. Has Completely Lifted Its Naval Blockade Of Iran

U.S. forces are not preventing ships from entering Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.

The U.S. Armed Forces, in accordance with an order from President Donald Trump, have lifted the blockade on all sea lanes leading to Iranian ports and coastal areas, according to a statement from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).

“U.S. forces are not preventing ships from traveling to and from Iranian ports in the Persian and Gulf of Oman. All U.S. efforts to enforce the blockade have ceased,” the press office stated.

CENTCOM reported that U.S. military ships will remain in the region to “monitor compliance with all aspects of the agreement.”

On the night of June 18, the U.S. and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding that calls for an end to the conflict and sets out a timeline for lifting the blockade and restoring shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Later, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian published the memorandum signed with the U.S. on his page on the social media platform X.
