The U.S. Vice President expressed his desire to make the Cuban people happy and successful.
The U.S. is in talks with Cuba regarding possible changes in the republic. This was announced by U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance during a press conference broadcast by the White House on its YouTube channel.
“We are currently in talks with the Cuban government about how they might change their approach and alter this situation. We’ll see what they do. If they make sensible decisions, we’ll have much better relations with the island,” the vice president said.
According to Vance, the U.S. wants the Cuban people to be happy and successful.
The day before, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel announced sweeping economic reforms to overcome the severe crisis caused by U.S. pressure. He said the authorities intend to encourage foreign direct investment, including from Cubans living abroad. They also plan to open up more sectors of the island’s economy to private participation.
