Trump Struck A Deal

However, this lull will be followed by a new war.
The deal is done. Trump wrote on Truth Social: “Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow!” The signing ceremony will take place in Switzerland on Friday.
The terms have not been publicly disclosed. The following is known: The Strait of Hormuz is opening, the blockade is being lifted, and a permanent ceasefire is being declared—including in Lebanon. This will be followed by 60 days of negotiations on the nuclear program.
Iran’s nuclear facilities have not been dismantled. Stocks of highly enriched uranium remain in the country—Iran has not publicly declared its willingness to dispose of them. The missile program was not included in the agreement. Hezbollah has not been disarmed. Proxy groups continue to exist.
Trump got a deal. Iran got an open strait, the lifting of the blockade, and the right to 60 days of negotiations while retaining its nuclear facilities. What Israel got is unclear. Apparently, a commitment to a ceasefire with Hezbollah, which continues to fire on our cities.
This is a pause on Iran’s terms, which will inevitably be followed by a new war. Perhaps not in 60 days, but in a few months or a year. It will be a war against a stronger Iran, having taken advantage of the lifting of sanctions. And Israel will apparently have to fight this war on its own.
