The Qatari authorities refused to unfreeze $12 billion of assets at the request of Iran. This is reported by the channel Iran International with reference to sources.
"Despite Tehran's firm demand to immediately and unconditionally unblock $12 billion along with the disclosure of a memorandum of intent with the U.S., the Qatari authorities rejected the call," the report says.
It is noted that the Qatari authorities are ready to unfreeze only $6 billion in the form of a loan with which Tehran would buy Qatari goods.
On May 29, the Tasnim news agency reported that the text of the draft agreement between Iran and the US regarding the settlement of the conflict has undergone changes over the past few days and has not yet been agreed upon.
Before that, the Axios portal reported that the US and Iranian negotiators have agreed on the draft memorandum. It is waiting for the approval of both sides. According to the portal, after that the U.S. will lift the blockade and restore navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. The passage of ships will be free, the material says.
