Svetlana Tihanovska is on a visit to Kiev and today visited the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
She toured the "Shelter" facility - a safe sarcophagus erected over the destroyed fourth unit of the plant. She then met with the head of the Kiev regional state administration, Nikolai Kalashnik, who told how in 2025, nearly 40 years after the disaster, the exclusion zone is under attack again - this time by Russia.
Tikhanovska's visit to Ukraine began on the morning of May 25, when she arrived in Kiev on a special train.

During her visit to Kiev, Tikhanovska and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga honored the memory of fallen heroes, including Belarusian volunteers, near the Wall of Remembrance.
Tikhanovska was joined in the Ukrainian capital by her advisers Franak Viachorka, Denis Kuchinsky, Anatoliy Lebedko and her deputy Pavel Latushko.
