The strikes on Tuapse are part of a strategy to destroy Russia's oil exports.
After the drone strike in Tuapse widespread fires broke out - the city was enveloped in smoke, the network is talking about the "apocalypse". The Russian authorities are trying to hide the real consequences of the attack.
What is currently known about the real consequences of yesterday's strike on Tuapse?
That's what the site Charter97.org talked to the AFU colonel in reserve, military expert and flight instructor Roman Svitan:
- The strike was struck directly at the oil refinery with its fuel tanks - it was they who were completely destroyed. The main task of the attack was accomplished: the refinery was completely shut down, some of the tanks were set on fire. Two tanks are definitely eliminated, the fire of the next ones is still burning.
At this stage, the oil depot, which was supplying the port and the refinery, has stopped the technological cycles, but there is still a berth there, which can still pump oil. I think it is likely that there will be several more attacks on this location to completely stop it - the oil depot, the refinery, and the pier. To stop the oil transshipment completely.
- The Kremlin has effectively hushed up the scale of the disaster, despite numerous videos from the city. Why is this happening?"
- Putin does not want an informational message before May 9, and therefore will now reduce the information flow on Tuapse as much as possible, wherever possible. Therefore, naturally, the dictator will keep silent, so as not to run into the question: why did you launch this operation in the first place? So that Tuapse would burn, the Caucasus would be covered with oil, the Black Sea coast would be contaminated with oil products?
This is a big problem for Putin now, and he will keep silent until May 9. After May 9, depending on the situation, all these issues will be raised. But at the moment, before the "scrappy" date, he will definitely not show his blunders.
- Z-bloggers are claiming lack of missiles for Pantsir complexes and "holes" in air defense. To what extent is this a systemic problem and how can it affect the defense of strategic facilities deep inside Russia?
- There is indeed a shortage of missiles for the Pantsir systems. The Russian Army has reached maximum production of these missiles, but their use has also increased. Since the AFU has a large number of drones, we have increased their number several times. Naturally, there are not enough missiles for all the drones - this was the main task of the AFU.
There is such a concept - system oversaturation factor, when the system shoots off all its missiles and, while it is reloading, it is possible to perform a combat mission. This is the type of "cracking" of Russian air defense that the Ukrainian Air Force is currently configured for. The task is set to produce a large number of aircraft, and several times more than the number of missiles to the Russian "Pantsir". Therefore, the tactics of the AFU have been chosen correctly, and they are producing the desired result.
And the Russian army cannot quickly increase the production of missiles for air defense - for this it is necessary to build a new plant, and this is unrealistic in such a short term.
- Could Novorossiysk be the next target and what will be the consequences of this strike?
- Yes, Novorossiysk will be the next target. But in addition to Tuapse and Novorossiysk, there is also the port of Taman, the port of Kavkaz and in the Sea of Azov - the port of Temryuk. This whole group will be destroyed, so it is only a matter of time. Russia will be expelled from the Black Sea.
