On the night of Saturday, April 25, Ukrainian long-range UAVs flew about 2,100 kilometers and attacked strategic facilities in Russia's Chelyabinsk region. The Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant could be under attack, writes Dialog.UA, having analyzed social networks and messengers.
The attack on strategic facilities in the Chelyabinsk region became known in the morning of April 25. Residents of Chelyabinsk reported that there were several explosions in the city. Some of the explosions are said to have occurred near the Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant.
Chelyabinsk Region Governor Alexei Teksler admitted that the region's strategic facilities were attacked by drones tonight. According to him, Russian air defense allegedly foiled an attempt to attack an infrastructure facility and that "there was no damage."
Which facility is in question, he did not specify. The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that Russian air defense over the Chelyabinsk region allegedly shot down Ukrainian UAVs, but did not name the exact number.
A total of 127 Ukrainian aircraft-type UAVs were allegedly shot down by Russian air defense over Russia on Saturday night, according to the Defense Ministry.
Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant is one of the largest facilities of the Russian metallurgical industry.
The products of this plant are used by the Russian military-industrial complex, so it is a legitimate target for the AFU.
Reminder, according to the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Russia's metallurgical industry is in a deep crisis. In 2025, due to the crisis, the Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant reduced its working week to 4 days in order to spend less money on employee salaries.
