Russian Federation Faces Shortage Of Air Defense Missiles Due To Drone Attacks

Ukraine's strategy is yielding tangible results.

Russia has a shortage of missiles for air defense systems amid the intensification of Ukrainian drone attacks. This was told by a serviceman of the unmanned systems battalion of the 59th SBS Assault Brigade Serzh Marko in an interview with Radio NV.

According to the military officer, the Russian side has already actually recognized the shortage of missiles for air defense systems.

He noted that the Russian Federation cannot effectively respond to mass drone attacks and is having difficulty protecting critical facilities.

"They don't know what to do with such an invasion of drones and how to protect facilities," Marko said.

The military explained that Ukraine's drone strike strategy has been shaped over a long period of time and has now begun to produce tangible results.

At the same time, Russia began scaling up its own anti-aircraft drone units much later.

A separate problem for Russia is the country's large territory, which is difficult to cover with air defense systems.

Marko said that it is easier for Ukraine to organize defense due to its more compact territory.

This puts additional strain on Russia's anti-aircraft defense system.
