Germany Has Reaffirmed Its Goal Of Raising The Size Of Its Army To Nearly Half A Million Men

A new military strategy is presented.

Germany's government on Wednesday presented a new military strategy that maintains the same target for the number of active troops that was specified in 2025, despite a demand from senior military leaders to significantly increase the army.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius told reporters in Berlin that the strategy calls for an army totaling 460,000, including 200,000 reservists and 260,000 active troops.
