Italy Summoned Russian Ambassador After Solovyov's Scandalous Statement

The Russian propagandist allowed himself a very foul language against Prime Minister Meloni.

Italy's Foreign Ministry has summoned the Russian ambassador to the country "on the carpet" after Russia's chief propagandist Vladimir Solovyov hurled insults at Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni.

It was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.

"I have instructed the Foreign Ministry to summon Russian Ambassador Paramonov to express official protests after extremely serious and offensive statements by Russian TV host Vladimir Solovyov on Russian television against Prime Minister Giorgi Meloni," Tajani wrote.

Russian propagandist Solovyov (whom Italian authorities once left real estateless by seizing both of his villas on Lake Como), in a recent broadcast of his propaganda program "Full Contact," berated Meloni in Italian. A lot of foul language was used against the prime minister.

Soloviev's tantrum is not only due to personal grudges against the Italian government. A number of new agreements with Italy on military support for Ukraine have recently become known.
