China Has Put A Secret Ship To Sea

The ship is considered one of the main tools for a future operation against Taiwan.

China has sent its newest landing ship, the Sichuan, described as a "drone carrier," to the South China Sea. The ship set out to conduct important tests in a high military tension zone as the US and the Philippines conduct their exercises in the region.

The South China Morning Post reports that.

The Sichuan's appearance at this point does not appear to be coincidental, the publication notes. The Chinese Navy's official Weibo account released the details:

"The Sichuan, our country's first Type 076 landing ship, departed Shanghai for the relevant waters of the South China Sea for research tests and training missions, checking the performance of several onboard systems and platforms."

China's military is trying to reduce the degree of tension in the statements. The short statement added:

"These are ordinary inter-regional tests and training exercises organized in accordance with the general plan of the ship's construction, and are not aimed at any specific target."

Secret Weapon Type 076

"The Sichuan is not just a landing craft, but a new-level ship. It is considered a key tool for a future operation against Taiwan. The ship passed its first sea trials back in November.

What this giant can carry:

a large number of attack and reconnaissance drones;

landing boats and armored vehicles;

helicopters and support aircraft;

marine units.

The ship is designed to provide an advantage when landing troops. The presence of catapults or special systems for UAVs makes it unique in its class.
