Ukrainians need to let go of any illusions about the war ending soon and assess the situation rationally, based on facts and calculations. On October 3, the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brovdi, made this statement on Telegram (“Madyar”)

He drew attention to the fatigue and exhaustion of Ukrainians, who face Russian shelling on a daily basis. According to Brovdy, people are trying to take advantage of this situation by spreading promises of an imminent ceasefire and the onset of peace.

The commander emphasized that such statements are being made against the backdrop of increasing escalation by Russia and the threats Vladimir Putin is directing at the international community. Brovdi linked these developments to the Russian president’s recent statements at the Valdai Forum.

“Putin is definitely not for peace. He thirsts for blood, to the point of our complete annihilation. And today he is exploiting a ‘reactive-shah’ window of opportunity by undermining our rear, because, to put it mildly, he has had little success on the front lines throughout 2026,” Madyar stated.

According to him, the Ukrainian Defense Forces intend to counter the new capabilities of Russian troops, including through rearmament. However, implementing the necessary measures will take time, the duration of which depends on a number of factors.

Brovdi also noted that the situation on the front lines remains dire. Russian occupiers continue their offensive operations and have no intention of easing the pressure; however, Ukrainian defenders, he said, are accelerating the pace at which they are destroying the enemy.

In conclusion, the SBS commander called on Ukrainians to maintain a clear head, not to succumb to false hopes, and to rely first and foremost on their own strength and mutual support.

“The army has been tempered; now it’s time for the home front to grow up, too. Don’t believe in illusions or miracles—we must rely on our own strength and on one another—that is the only way we will preserve our statehood and our homeland. As for the ‘shed under a white flag’ proposed by the jackals, it will be burned down on the very first dark night. Adults will understand me,” he concluded.
