Operation "Vivaldi" Dealt A Crushing Blow: The Kremlin Has Been Humiliated

Operation "Vivaldi" Dealt A Crushing Blow: The Kremlin Has Been Humiliated
Alexander Kovalenko

The chair leg had already been knocked out from under Gerasimov.

The failure of the Russian Operational-Strategic Group (ROV) on the Liman front and mass surrender of Russian soldiers have put the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov in an extremely awkward position.

Let me remind you that just a month ago, on September 1, Russian President and war criminal Vladimir Putin publicly declared that Russian troops were in control of the city of Svyatogorsk. He made this statement when the failure of the Russian offensive in the Liman direction was already evident, where Russian forces were retreating under pressure from the Third Army Corps.

This is not the first time Putin has been set up in this way. A year ago, a similar ploy was pulled off with Kupyansk, after which Putin spent another two months convincing everyone that the city was under Russian control. And just this summer, in June, Putin delivered yet another stand-up routine about the 149 houses out of 11,000 in Liman that remained to be captured.

But the real slap in the face for the Russian military-political leadership was the display of Russian soldiers who had surrendered, with whom the commander of the 3rd Army Corps, Brigadier General Andrei Bileitsky, held a long and thorough conversation. This video garnered over a million views across various platforms in just one day, and it was simply impossible to keep such a disgrace to the Russian Armed Forces under wraps.

And now the Kremlin intends to find someone to blame for the string of endless failures on the front lines.

The current Russian Minister of Defense, Belousov, has already volunteered to help find the culprit, with the aim of placing all the blame on Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov, who regularly reports information that does not correspond to reality.

Belousov has his own self-serving goals—to remove Gerasimov and install his own people in the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, thereby taking control of two of Russia’s fundamental security agencies at once.

Thus, Operation “Vivaldi” dealt a crushing blow not only to the 20th and 25th Operational-Tactical Groups of the Russian Navy in the Liman direction, but also stirred up a rat’s nest in Moscow. Of course, it will be very difficult to undermine Gerasimov’s position. Even with Sergei Shoigu, it turned out to be much easier than with Gerasimov, but one could say that the first leg has already been knocked out from under him.
