Five companies were named the winners of the contest.
The U.S. Army has announced the five companies that won the xTechHumanoid competition, selecting the best combat humanoid robots.
This was reported by the Pentagon press office.
The U.S. military launched the xTechHumanoid competition to identify promising commercial approaches and establish a technical foundation for this new technology sector. The competition provided stakeholders with an opportunity to directly assess the level of maturity of the technologies being developed in the commercial humanoid robotics market.

A total of 103 proposals were submitted to the competition, covering both basic humanoid robot models and cutting-edge technologies for their subsystems. Ten companies advanced to the finals, nine of which ultimately demonstrated their technologies at the Marine Corps Base in Quantico.

Based on the results of the demonstration tests, the Army selected five winners of the xTechHumanoid competition:
ACEs Group, LLC developed an integrated power system designed to meet the energy needs of humanoid robotic systems. It utilizes scalable energy storage technologies.
The Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition presented a humanoid robot equipped with shock-resistant actuators, ballistic protection, and a hybrid autonomy system that combines artificial intelligence with human control to perform complex and dangerous tasks.
Hydroplane Ltd demonstrated lightweight and compact mobile power generation systems designed to provide long-term power in environments with complex logistics and hostile conditions.
RAS Labs showcased highly sensitive tactile sensors for fingertips, enabling robotic systems to recognize pressure, object shape, slippage, and other physical interactions.
Velocity Explorations has developed software based on the company’s command and control technology; it translates verified information and command intentions into specific actions for humanoid robotic systems.
For participating companies, the xTechHumanoid competition has established a direct link between the development of commercial technologies and real operational needs, providing an opportunity to test their solutions in action, better understand mission requirements, and identify areas where their technological capabilities can benefit the military.
