Tokayev Again Called On Putin To Stop The War In Ukraine

The President of Kazakhstan reiterated the position he had expressed to the dictator of the Russian Federation in Omsk.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated in Berlin that all heads of state are calling for an end to hostilities in Ukraine.

“I am grateful to President Putin for showing great understanding of my personal position on this issue. Since all of us—heads of state—are in favor of ending military hostilities on Ukrainian territory, including the President of Russia,” Tokayev said.

On July 25, Putin and Tokayev held a meeting in Omsk, during which the Kazakhstani leader proposed to freeze Russia’s war in Ukraine and return to the Istanbul formula for a settlement. The head of the republic emphasized that significant results had been achieved during the negotiations in Turkey, so it makes sense to continue moving toward peace under the guarantees of major powers.
