Lavrov Called The Remarks About A Russian Invasion Of The EU "prophetic"

The Russian Foreign Minister promised Europe a “short war.”
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that calls by European leaders to prepare for a possible armed confrontation with Russia could provoke a war.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing Russian media.
At a closing press conference following the UN General Assembly in New York, Lavrov stated that Moscow allegedly has no plans to go to war with European countries.
At the same time, he claimed that it is European countries that are preparing for a possible conflict with Russia, in particular by increasing spending on arms production.
“We have no intention of going to war with Europe; that’s nonsense and rubbish. But it is Europe that is preparing for war with us,” said the Russian foreign minister.
He also suggested that the accumulation of weapons by European countries could lead to one of their leaders deciding to use military force against Russia.
“This stance could turn out to be a self-fulfilling prophecy, because they are currently investing huge sums of money in weapons production,” Lavrov stated.
The Russian minister also warned that Moscow would respond with military force in the event of an attack on Russia. According to him, dictator Vladimir Putin had previously stated that in such a case, “it won’t be up to us,” and the war would allegedly be “completely different” and short.
As a reminder, the Russian state news agency RIA Novosti recently published a column titled “Another Special Military Operation Awaits Russia. It Will Be Very Short,” which contained a threat of a nuclear strike against Lithuania.
