The Media Learned What Was Discussed At The Meeting Between The German Foreign Minister And Lavrov

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, during a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, called for “abandoning the dangerous course of escalation toward Germany, Europe, and NATO.”

Wadeful’s meeting with Lavrov on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York lasted only 20 minutes.

Later, sources within the delegation revealed that Wadeful urged Moscow to “abandon the dangerous path of escalation against Germany, Europe, and NATO.” Incidents such as the attempted attack in Leipzig or other hybrid attacks will not shake Germany’s resolve to support Kyiv, the German minister reportedly said.

Wadeful also reportedly told Lavrov that this regrettable state of relations is not in Germany’s interests. The possibility of a return to constructive relations exists at any time. This presupposes an end to the war, which violates international law.

The meeting between the foreign ministers of Germany and Russia in New York was the first since 2022.
