A job opening for a salesperson at “First National Trading House” sparked a storm of emotions among Belarusians.
Belarusachka is looking for a “mobile sales consultant” for its flagship store in the “First National Department Store.” The company posted this announcement on Threads. Along with the job responsibilities, the post also lists the salary promised to the candidate during the first three months of the probationary period. Judging by the comments, people were unpleasantly surprised by the amount, writes "Zerkalo".
The ad states that a sales consultant is needed for full-time work from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The primary work location is the “First National Department Store,” but with the possibility of working at the “Globo” and “Stolitsa” shopping centers as well.
“Please read carefully, without making value judgments. “We’re working within the constraints of what we have available,” writes a company representative before addressing the financial aspect of the position. The posting goes on to state that the salary will be 1,300 rubles before taxes, meaning the employee will take home even less.
“It is set for a probationary period of up to three months; thereafter, the amount may (that is, it’s not a certainty—Ed.) be revised,” the company honestly explained.
Commenters couldn’t resist making “judgmental remarks” after the amount was announced:
“Don’t you think it’s ridiculous to pay such peanuts in 2026?”
“Girls want to eat, and you can’t really eat much on 1,300 before deductions).”

However, there were also words of support and understanding among the comments.
