The U.S. President Said He Would Discuss “hellish Sanctions” With Xi Jinping

The President of the People's Republic of China will arrive in the U.S. tomorrow for the first time in more than 10 years.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he will discuss the “Graham Act”, which, among other things, concerns sanctions against Russia and “penalty tariffs” on buyers of Russian energy resources, with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

He stated during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in New York.

The U.S. president noted that the “Graham Act,” which he recently signed, is “very strict”.

When asked about the possible impact of this law on China, given that the country is the leading importer of Russian oil and gas, Trump replied that he would discuss this during his meeting with the Chinese leader.

“I’ll probably bring it up… We’ll discuss many things. It will be a wonderful meeting, and we’ll discuss this; we have a very good relationship,” the U.S. president said.

As reported, Chinese leader Xi Jinping will visit the United States on a state visit September 23–25 at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump—the first such visit in more than 10 years.
