Bloomberg: Ukraine Has Found A Way To Replace Frontline Personnel

Robots can perform a wide range of tasks.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are actively expanding their use of ground-based robotic systems, deploying them to carry out the most dangerous missions. The main goal is to reduce casualties among personnel. This is discussed in the article Bloomberg.
One example was the use of a robotic platform equipped with a flamethrower in the Donetsk sector. During an attack by Russian assault units, the vehicle set fire to the vegetation around enemy positions, after which Ukrainian troops completed the defensive operation using small arms.
The robot was used by the 93rd Mechanized Brigade, which was among the first to begin deploying robotic systems on the battlefield. According to military officials, Ukrainian ground platforms can be equipped with machine guns, grenade launchers, flamethrowers, and other weapons. Ukrainian authorities expect to produce at least 50,000 such robotic systems this year.
Another important milestone was the first use of a maritime drone to deliver a ground combat robot. In July, the remotely controlled Wolly 7.62 platform was delivered to the Kinburn Spit, where it opened fire on Russian positions, forcing the enemy to abandon part of the coastline. After completing its mission, the robot was destroyed.
As stated in the agency’s article, these robots enable a wide range of tasks, from delivering ammunition and evacuating the wounded to direct participation in assault operations and kamikaze attacks.
Robert Brovdy , commander of the Unmanned Systems Force , previously emphasized that these technologies are becoming one of the key tools for compensating for personnel shortages.
