On Friday, August 14, a drone entered Latvian territory from Belarus, Defense Minister Raivis Melnis said in an interview on Latvian television, according to Delfi.lv.

Investigations are currently underway to determine the country of origin of the drone.

The minister confirmed that any drones entering Latvian territory will be shot down.

On Friday morning, NATO fighter jets shot down a drone that had entered Latvian airspace near Lake Bazhevas in northeastern Latvia. The drone was shot down in a wooded area; no residents were injured, and no property damage was reported.
