Vance Outlined The Main Goal Of The Talks With Iran In Switzerland
J.D. Vance

Two important topics will be prioritized.

During the upcoming talks with Iran in Switzerland, the United States’ top priorities will be to define the framework for the dialogue, make progress on nuclear issues, and secure a ceasefire in Lebanon.

This was reported by the television network CNN, which cites a statement by U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance.

Before departing for Switzerland, the vice president noted that he expects progress in negotiations on the handling of Iranian nuclear materials. According to him, the U.S. side will involve both top political leadership and technical experts in the process.

“Top-level political leadership will spearhead the process, while the technical team will, of course, remain on the ground,” explained J.D. Vance.

He clarified that he himself would only be able to stay in Switzerland for one or two days, but hopes to achieve progress on the issue of controlling Iran’s nuclear materials during that time.

The U.S. side considers the second critically important issue to be achieving a ceasefire in Lebanon, which has once again come under rocket fire from Israel. Vance emphasized that the current escalation of the situation is a process that the United States “will have to manage on an ongoing basis.”

“These are two important issues on which we will focus. I am confident that the Iranian side will also have issues it will want to discuss,” the U.S. vice president concluded.
