Dozens of square kilometers have been liberated.

The blockade of Crimea’s key transport routes and the deep-water ports of the Sea of Azov has resulted in a logistical collapse for the Russian military. Taking advantage of the enemy’s supply paralysis, the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched successful operations on several fronts simultaneously. This was reported today, June 15, on the TV channel FREEДOM by military-political analyst Dmitry Snegirev.

- It should be noted that until recently, Crimea was the main logistical hub for the Russian occupation army. This involved the ability to transport personnel, fuel and lubricants, ammunition, and heavy armored vehicles from the Russian Federation’s rear areas in Taman via rail ferries through occupied Crimea toward the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. In addition, Crimea was used as a storage base for those same ammunition supplies and fuel and lubricants. At the moment, [the Russian army] does not have that capability, he said.

Speaking about the ferry crossings, the expert noted that the last of the rail ferries, namely the “Slavianin,” was destroyed by drones from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense in April 2026.

- What is happening now is that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are cutting off occupied Crimea from mainland Ukraine. Strikes are being delivered both directly at the Chongar Isthmus and at the Chongar and Armenian bridges. In other words, this effectively amounts to paralyzing the logistics of the Russian occupiers and making it impossible for them to use Crimea as a staging ground. Moreover, I should note that the occupiers themselves acknowledge serious logistical problems when it comes to redeploying personnel, ammunition, food, water, and, most importantly, fuel and lubricants directly to the line of contact, — explained Dmitry Snegirev.

The point, as the analyst noted, is that not only the logistics system of occupied Crimea came under fire, but also the port infrastructure of occupied Mariupol and Berdyansk. These deep-water ports on the Sea of Azov were actively used by Russian troops as key logistics hubs.

- As a result, the occupiers are facing serious problems on the front lines. In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are exploiting the occupiers’ logistical problems to conduct successful raids toward Stepanivka, Primorske, and Kamensk. The Ukrainian Defense Forces have achieved significant tactical successes there. This has effectively allowed them to level the front line. At the junction of three regions—Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk—the Ukrainian Armed Forces have de-occupied 47 square kilometers of territory. Moreover, I would note that Ukrainian losses for the entire month of May amounted to no more than 14 square kilometers, the military analyst noted.

It is also noteworthy that the Ukrainian Defense Forces achieved tactical successes in the Lyman direction, emphasized Dmitry Snegirev.

- Thanks to the blockade of Russian logistics, the Ukrainian Defense Forces cleared Zelenaya Dolina and Shandrigolovo. 11.7 square kilometers have been deoccupied. Additionally, the Ukrainian Defense Forces advanced east of Rai-Oleksandrivka—this is the Sloviansk sector of the front. Most importantly, the Ukrainian Defense Forces drove the enemy out of three settlements—Drobyshevo, Novoselivka, and Derilovo (Liman sector). As we can see, Ukraine’s defenders have managed to achieve significant tactical successes thanks to the so-called Russian transport lockdown,” summarized Dmitry Snegirev.
