Footage of the massive fire has emerged.
On the night of May 31, drones attacked the Lazarevo linear production and dispatching station (LPDS) in the Kirov Region of the Russian Federation. The facility is located more than 1,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian borders. Footage of a powerful fire at the LPDS has already appeared on the Web, reports Dialog.UA.
The success of the strike was confirmed personally by the governor of the region Alexander Sokolov. "There is an ignition. There are no victims or casualties," he wrote.
According to the published footage, the tank farm at the station is believed to have caught fire.
Witnesses observe a heavy fire with puffs of black smoke. "Lazarevo" belongs to the Russian corporation Transneft. It is a key infrastructure facility of the main oil pipelines in the central part of the Russian Federation.
It distributes West Siberian oil towards Moscow and for export to Belarus. It is strategically important for uninterrupted operation of the system of trunk oil pipelines in the western direction.
