The former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine may be released on bail of 140 million hryvnias.
The court elected the former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak a measure of restraint in the form of detention for 60 days with the alternative of bail in the amount of 140 million hryvnias.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the broadcast of the court session.
It should be noted that the prosecution requested for Yermak a measure of restraint in the form of detention with the possibility of bail in the amount of 180 million hryvnias.
Procedural obligations
If the bail is made, Yermak will be released from the pre-trial detention center, but will impose on him a number of procedural obligations.
These include:
Be in touch: to appear before an investigator, prosecutor or court at the first summons.
Report on his movements: to be warned if he changes his place of residence or work.
Not to leave Kiev: he is forbidden to leave the city without special permission.
To surrender passports: deposit all passports, diplomatic passports and any documents allowing to leave the country.
Wear a bracelet: it is mandatory to wear an electronic means of control.
No communication. Yermak is strictly prohibited from discussing details of the case with other suspects and witnesses. Among them: Alexei Chernyshev, Timur Mindich, Veronika Anikievich, etc.
If Yermak violates at least one of these rules after posting bail, the 140 million hryvnias will go to the state, and the suspect himself will be sent back behind bars.
What Yermak says
The court's decision takes effect immediately. The defense has 3 days to file an appeal to the Appellate Chamber of the Supreme Court of Ukraine.
Yermak immediately said in the courtroom that he will challenge the decision.
With regard to the bail of 140 million hryvnias, the ex-head of the OP claims that he "does not have such money", but has "many friends" and will try to raise the amount "if there is such an opportunity".
