"The Russians Have Been Sneaking Around The Belarusian Border."

"The Russians Have Been Sneaking Around The Belarusian Border."

The military expert pointed out an interesting point.

There was an interesting moment in the air attack on Ukraine on May 13, when "the Russians pressed" to the Belarusian border - a flock of "Shaheds" flew at a distance of 5-10 km from its border. This was said in a comment UNIAN by aviation expert, leading researcher of the NAU Valeriy Romanenko.

"The Russians are thus trying to get to the west of Ukraine along the Belarusian border by the shortest way. There Mesh modems were used in full force," he said.

The aviation expert noted that the enemy strikes were carried out in most regions of Ukraine.

"The launches were made from all adjacent regions of the Russian Federation and from occupied Crimea, but from the Bryansk region - such a novelty. They were launching drones in order to get through where they thought we didn't have a high density of air defense. They were coming in swarms one after another, which means that no mobile group with anti-aircraft drones would have time to react to such a large number of drones, which are breaking through one after another - a drone flies by every few minutes. That is, the group would not even have time to reload," Romanenko said.

He said the massive attacks in western Ukraine were on separate areas, and the main targets were infrastructure facilities.

The standard of an almost round-the-clock attack

Romanenko said that in the May 13 attack, the enemy did not demonstrate any originality. The Russians have been practicing day-night attacks since last month. He added:

"There is an attack at night, and then it continues - from morning until 18-18:30. There were such attacks on May 3 and 4, of low intensity, but on May 5 there was a massive serious attack - they launched 11 Iskander missiles."

According to him, mostly drone attacks still occur, because, despite the fact that the Russians are increasing the production of missiles, but it is extremely slow - from 60 to 62 units per month.

The possibility of a missile attack

Romanenko does not rule out that today-tomorrow the Russian Federation may still launch missiles at Ukraine. He notes that this month the Russians have not yet used Kh-101, Kalibr missiles, which are launched from sea carriers, at all. And very cautiously used ballistics. In February they used - 112 ballistic missiles, and this month only 17 missiles, and it's been almost half a month already.

The most massive attack on Transcarpathia

Answering a question about whether the strikes on Transcarpathia on May 13 were related to the fact that Russian dictator Putin's friend Viktor Orban left power and now has not stood up for the region, where partly Hungarians live, Romanenko said that it makes no difference in Russia's choice of targets.

"You overestimate Orban by two orders of magnitude. If the Russians had any information that we were producing something important there, Orban in power would not help anyone or anything," Romanenko emphasized.
