"Polish Radio": Andrzej Poczobut Will Be Invited To The Polish Sejm

A possible date has been named.

Andrzej Poczobut will be invited to the Polish Sejm. This was unofficially learned by Polskie Radio. The House of Representatives intends to thank him in a special way for his work.

The first possible date is the next session of the Sejm. The organization of a special ceremony earlier is also being considered. The details should be agreed between the members of the Presidium and representatives of the parliamentary factions.

Reminder, Andrzej Poczobut was released as a result of the exchange on the Belarusian-Polish border on the basis of the "five by five" formula.

In February 2023, the court in Hrodna sentenced Andrzej Poczobut to 8 years in colony on the articles of incitement to hatred (part 3 of article 130 of the Criminal Code) and calls for actions aimed at harming national security (article 361-3 of the Criminal Code).

Andrzej was placed several times in the penal colony in Novopolotsk. In detention, he lost a lot of weight and underwent surgery to remove skin ulcers. In October 2025, he received the Sakharov Prize in absentia, and in November he received Poland's highest honor, the Order of the White Eagle.

In 2024, Andrzej Poczobut became an honorary citizen of Warsaw.
