Oil Rain Followed Tuapse In Perm

After a drone strike on an oil station.

"Oil rain" has started in Perm, where a fire is being put out at a Transneft pumping station after the Ukrainian attack. Eyewitnesses posted photos of black drops and streaks on clothes, cars and windows. Similar fallout earlier fell in Tuapse after a series of strikes on a local oil refinery (refinery) on the territory of a marine terminal, The Moscow Times writes.

Rospotrebnadzor said it had taken air samples near the burning facility in Perm. Children were evacuated from schools in the morning because of the attack, but returned to classes hours later despite thick black smoke in the sky that plunged the city into darkness.

Governor Dmitry Makhonin said in the morning that an "enemy drone arrival" had caused a fire at an "industrial site" in the Perm municipal district. OSINT analysis of video and photos from the site showed that the Perm Linear Production and Dispatch Station (LPDS), which is used for pumping, storing and distributing oil through trunk pipelines, was hit.

"There were about 10 arrivals on the tanks. Now 4 tanks are on fire, totaling 200 tons of oil. No 'technical site' in any way. There are also injured," said an employee of the enterprise.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) confirmed the attack on the LPDS: according to preliminary information, there are "burning almost all" oil storage tanks. The agency said the station is a "strategically important node of Russia's main oil transportation system," distributing raw materials in four directions, including to the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez refinery. "The SBU systematically reduces Russia's export potential and undermines its economic basis, from which the war against Ukraine is financed," added the head of the service, Evgeniy Khmara.

The attack on a Russian LPDS 1,500 kilometers from the border was also commented on by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. He thanked the SBU "for accuracy" and promised that the striking distances will only increase. "These are absolutely fair Ukrainian responses to Russian terror. The results are obvious to everyone. And the fact that it's time for Russia to end its war is also obvious. It's time to move on to diplomacy," Zelensky noted.
