Magyar Is Calling For Re-election In One Of The Districts

The leader of the winning party of the Hungarian parliamentary elections "Tisza" Peter Magyar demands re-election in a single-mandate district, where, according to his belief, the political force lost solely because of a fake candidate with the same name - Peter Magyar.
According to "European Pravda", he made such a call on Saturday, April 18.
Magyar called for re-election in the 2nd district in the Vaš medieu near the Austrian border, where the candidate of Viktor Orban's Fidesz party won, beating the Tisa representative by 258 votes.
He said the Tisa candidate Viktoria Strompova failed to win precisely because of the presence on the ballot of a formally independent candidate named Peter Magyar, affiliated with Fidesz.
More than 900 voters cast ballots for the "fake Magyar" and the politician is sure that in most cases they were Tisa supporters misled by the coincidence of names.
Magyar called the situation "Russian methods in the most cynical form" and demands to appoint a repeat vote in the district.
It is noted that this "fake" candidate hardly campaigned publicly, does not live in the city of Sharvar (the administrative center of the district) and works in Austria. Before deleting his social media pages, he published photos with leading Fidesz representatives, including Orbán. In addition, he was spotted at a pro-government demonstration on March 15, although by then he was already listed as an "independent candidate," 444.
Reminder, Hungary is still counting the votes of foreign voters and those who voted outside their place of registration.
The Tisza party is projected to win 141 seats in parliament, even if the results of the remaining competitive constituencies do not change in its favor.
