Ukrainian Journalist: Kiev Shooter Supported Occupiers

He allegedly donated to the Russian army.

The man who carried out the shooting in the Goloseevsky district of Kiev had previously "shone" in Russian publicks. He directly wrote about donations "for the VDV" (as the Russian Federation calls the war against Ukraine).

This was reported on Saturday, April 18, by journalist Vitaliy Glagola, noted website New Voice.

Glagola found that the shooter used the email addresses [email protected] and [email protected]. The abbreviation VDV stands for the Russian Airborne Troops, the journalist explained.

He also said he checked the shooter's name - Dmitri Vasilchenkov - through open sources and found that the man served in the Russian military unit number 30274.

Glagola found a photo on social media where Vasilchenkov poses in a military uniform with the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Russian army.

Also, according to the journalist, the man had dual citizenship of the Russian Federation and Ukraine. Some of this information is now being checked by law enforcers.

Telegram publick ASTRA reported that it had checked information about Dmitry Vasilchenkoov and found that, in addition to the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, he lived in the Russian city of Ryazan. According to the publick, Vasilchenkoov had an account in the Russian Alfa Bank in 2023 and in 2022 - in Sberbank. In 2016, he crossed the border between Russia and Ukraine three times: once by car and twice by train.
