Half Of Annual Production Lost: A Military Official Spoke About The Consequences Of The Su-34's Defeat

Half Of Annual Production Lost: A Military Official Spoke About The Consequences Of The Su-34's Defeat
Alexander Musienko

The Russian Air Force suffered heavy losses.

In just one month, the Ukrainian military hit 8 Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers, completely destroying 6 of them. These losses account for nearly half of Russia’s annual production of this aircraft model.

Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemember and military analyst Oleksandr Musienko discussed this on the air “Channel 24”.

Severe consequences for enemy aviation

According to his data, the Russian military-industrial complex is capable of producing only 16 to 18 such aircraft per year. Currently, the enemy’s total fleet of Su-34s and Su-35s is estimated at approximately 140 units.

“That’s already a loss of two aircraft that were directly carrying out strikes. On top of that, four more—plus two damaged ones—have been sent for repairs. These are quite significant losses. Now the enemy will be forced to decide whether to keep the aircraft closer to the border with Ukraine or deploy them at airfields deeper inside Russia. Deploying them further inland places a heavy burden on the flight crews, results in fewer combat missions, and leads to faster engine wear and tear,” the expert noted.

As the analyst emphasized, the loss of airworthy aircraft along with qualified crews creates critical difficulties for the occupying army. It will take the invaders at least half a year to replace the lost aircraft and train new pilots.

Strikes on Launchers and Radars

In parallel with frontline bombers, Ukrainian defenders are methodically destroying other expensive and scarce enemy equipment. This involves destroying launchers for “Iskander” ballistic missile systems, radar stations for S-400 systems, as well as equipped “drone ports.”

Each unit of such weaponry that is neutralized significantly reduces the scale of potential strikes on Ukrainian cities—especially given the shortage of anti-aircraft missiles for the Patriot systems—and protects the lives of civilians.
