Universities were evaluated in five categories.
Belarusian State University (BSU) and Belarusian State Medical University (BSMU) were included in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027. Both universities were ranked in the 2001+ range.
The ranking, which includes universities trusted by students, members of the academic community, government agencies, and industry experts, features 2,297 institutions from 118 countries and territories. The University of Oxford took the top spot for the 11th consecutive year. For the first time, Asia outperformed continental Europe in the rankings, and three Asian universities made it into the top 15 simultaneously for the first time.
Universities were evaluated across five categories: teaching quality, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook.
BSU scores: teaching—24.0, research environment—11.7, research quality—9.6, industry engagement—44.5, international outlook—63.5. The university’s overall score was 12.2–20.3, and its ranking was 2001+.
BSMU scored 25.4 points for teaching, 10.1 for research environment, 4.0 for research quality, 16.9 for industry engagement, and 43.9 for international activities. The overall score is the same, 12.2–20.3, and its ranking is also 2001+.
After the top 300 universities, the ranking groups institutions together if the differences in their overall scores are statistically insignificant. In 2027, the groups are organized by ranges, with the last one being 2001+.
In addition, the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR) applied to participate in the ranking. However, it is listed as “Reporter”: the university provided data but did not meet the criteria for inclusion in the ranking.
