The Founder Of The Belarusian Ensemble “Khoroshki” Has Died

The actress was 90 years old.

The founder of the Belarusian State Academic Honored Choreographic Ensemble “Khoroshki” has died at the age of 90 Valentina Gaevaya, reported the press service of the Ministry of Culture.

The cause of death was not disclosed.

In 1965, Valentina Gaevaya graduated from the Leningrad Higher Trade Union School of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions (VTsSPS). In January 1974, she became the artistic director and principal choreographer of the “Khoroshki” dance ensemble.

“For more than half a century, the name of this legendary artist has been inextricably linked with the study, reinterpretation, revival, and popularization of Belarusian cultural heritage,” the Ministry of Culture stated.
