The spies were given ambitious tasks.
In Romania, law enforcement officials uncovered and dismantled a sabotage network coordinated by Russian intelligence services.
It was involved in a fire in Brașov near the Romarm defense plant, according to the Romanian publication Adevarul.
The fire near the Romarm plant in Brașov occurred on the night of September 14 of this year. Fortunately, no one was injured at the time.
The Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism in Romania (DIICOT) suspects two Belarusian citizens and one Ukrainian citizen of arson. The Belarusian nationals were detained in Germany, while the Ukrainian is currently in Poland but may soon be extradited to Romania, as an arrest warrant has already been issued.
The network established by Russian intelligence services in Romania was intended to operate in various Eastern European countries.
It was tasked with ambitious objectives; for example, saboteurs were supposed to disrupt the training of Ukrainian soldiers and officers.
