Norway Responded To Trump

The U.S. president took offense at the Nobel Committee.

Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Bart Eide commented on the offensive remarks made by U.S. President Donald Trump against his country regarding Norway’s failure to win the Nobel Peace Prize, reports “European Truth”.

During a campaign event on Sunday, Trump lashed out at Norwegian authorities over not receiving the Nobel Prize and also claimed that Norway had turned into a “dump.”

“He (Trump—Ed.) knows very well that the Nobel Committee is independent. We’ve pointed this out before, in case anyone had any doubts, and that remains the case to this day,” Eide said in response to the U.S. president’s remarks.

In early October, Trump claimed that he should have received the Nobel Peace Prize. At the same time, the award was given to South African lawyer Navanethem Pillay for her efforts to promote peace and international law.

It is worth noting that in January, Trump wrote a letter to the Prime Minister of Norway in which he linked his statements about his intention to take control of Greenland to the fact that he had not been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

In addition, the White House criticized the Nobel Committee, stating that it “puts politics above peace” because Donald Trump did not receive the Peace Prize.
