The dictator demanded that lists of “slacking” employees be forwarded to Kochanova and the defense minister.
On October 23, Alexander Lukashenko drew attention to the problem of “worker discipline” at the Belkommunmash holding company during a conversation with the company’s head Mikhail Sumanovich.
“When I was told that there is no discipline at your enterprise, I felt a little queasy. What does it mean to have no discipline in this day and age? If you can’t—as we say in our country—enforce discipline right now, I don’t know how you’ll be able to work tomorrow,” — said Alexander Lukashenko.
He emphasized that “today the situation is such that even journalists are afraid to break discipline.”
“But our working class is behaving in a disorderly manner. What kind of quality can we expect then? I understand that our democracy is such that some people might even tell a leader to go to hell. So give us the names of those [who are at fault]. [Chairwoman of the “Council of the Republic”] Kochanova has been authorized by you. She will pass them on tomorrow to [Defense Minister Viktor] Khrenin. “They’ll be golden people,” said Alexander Lukashenko.
The dictator added that there “should be no question of discipline at all,” warning that “there will be the harshest consequences for this.”
“I am watching this very closely,” Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.
Earlier, the dictator ordered send “negligent farmers” to military training camps.
