Lukashenko Began Talking About Mobilization

To date, Belarusian farmers have managed to harvest only a portion of the planned crop—even though there are only a few weeks left until the end of the season. Dictator Lukashenko made this statement at a recent meeting on personnel issues, according to the state news agency BelTA.

The ruler once again resorted to his usual rhetoric—calling for a “mobilization” in agriculture. “Don’t let up; we need a mobilization, and a very serious one,” he said, while casually approving the appointments of officials.

By the ruler’s own admission, there is a “colossal amount” of work ahead, and the harvest campaign is “far from over.” “We’re only halfway through,” he was forced to admit, even though the agricultural season is drawing to a close.

It’s worth recalling that a month earlier, Lukashenko had already admitted that fears for the potato harvest in Belarus due to torrential rains.
