The EU Has Agreed To Extend Sanctions Against The Lukashenko Regime For Three Years At Once

Previously, the restrictions were extended for 6 or 12 months.

On Monday, EU member states reached a preliminary agreement to extend sanctions against Belarusian and Russian individuals and entities, according to the Czech television channel CT24, citing sources.

The agreement was reached on Monday, September 21, at a meeting of the permanent representatives of the EU member states in Brussels.

The TV channel notes that EU countries will now initiate a written procedure to formally approve this decision.

It should be noted that sanctions against Russian and Belarusian individuals have been extended for three years instead of the usual six or 12 months.
